How to Print and Cut

Hopefully you have already downloaded the zip files from the DOWNLOAD page and extracted the .png files from them.  You should have the following files:

all-animals-01.png all-places-01.png fantasy-creatures-02.png
all-animals-02.png all-places-02.png fantasy-people-01.png
all-animals-03.png all-things-01.png fantasy-people-02.png
all-food-01.png all-things-02.png fantasy-people-03-places-02.png
all-people-01.png all-things-03.png fantasy-places-01.png
all-people-02.png all-wild.png fantasy-things-01.png
all-people-03.png fantasy-creatures-01.png fantasy-things-02.png
back.png

Each png file is 9 cards sized to print on a single sheet of card stock (with room for margins).  Load your printer with card stock. (Heavier card stock makes better cards, but light card stock will work fine)  Print off each png file except for back.png.

Now, take all of those printed sheets and place them back into the printer so that the back (unprinted) side will be printed on next.  See your printers instructions for how to do this. (You Might have to feed them through one at a time)  On the back of each sheet of cards, print back.png.  That will put the "Once Upon A Time" logo on the back.

Now to cut them out!  You'll note there are no outlines on the back of the cards.  That is on purpose.  The back printout almost never lines up EXACTLY with the front printout.  But if there are no outlines on the back printout, you'll almost never notice any small misalignments.

So, flip each page over to the front and carefully cut the cards out along the outlines.  This CAN be done with a pair of scissors, but a rotary cutter and a straight edge makes the job a lot neater and easier.  And if you happen to have access to one of those very nice Swing Arm paper trimmers, that would be ideal.

Don't panic if the cards don't come out exactly perfect.  For this game, it doesn't make a big difference if someone can figure out that you've got the "Old Man" card in your hand by the nick on the left corner. :)

Now you are ready to play!
